UP-HILL THAILAND EXPEDITION

Day 01: Arrival – Chiang Mai
Arrival at Chiang Mai International airport, meet and transfer to your hotel. Free on your own.
Day 02: Chiang Mai – City Tours
The journey northwards begins as we board a flight to Chiang Mai. After checking into hotel we drive west towards the famous Doi Suthep Mountain and embark on a walk leading us to Wat Prathat Temple near the summit. At an elevation of over 1,000 m , the temple grounds affords a panoramic view over the surrounding countryside. We follow this with a visit to the old and new parts of the town featuring the great diversity. The “Rose of the North”, Chiang Mai has been always noted for exquisite handicrafts whose the combination with the traditional wares of the hill tribe people offers fantastic shopping opportunities. We drive this afternoon to the neighboring villages of Sankampaeng and Borsarng to see the various cottages industries including silk weaving, wood carving, silver ware and umbrellas making. (B, L)
Day 03: Chiang Mai – Elephant Camp – Pai
The exciting adventure begins as we depart the town and drive through the breathtaking mountain landscape to Mae Hong Son. Along the way we make stop over at Mae Sa Elephant training center before we head towards Pai. There is plenty to see in this beautiful area, some of which are the Lisu Hilltribe Village, the Lahu Hilltribe Village. Before arrival Pai visit hot spring at Baan Mae Yen. Arrived in Pai, and after check in to the hotel we will visit Chinese Yunan village at Santichol Village, Optional to ride the bicycle around this small town or Sunset at Baan Din Doi (Lisu Village) (B, L)
Day 04: Pai – Phu Klone – Mae Hongson
Continue drive to We will travel continue to Fish Cave, where thousands of carps live an undisturbed life. Then we will drive to the most famous natural Mud Spa at Phuklone Country Club http://www.pooklon.com/activity.html
You will spend the time here for relaxing for natural spa and Tha traditional massage for 3 hours. Then continue to Mae Hongson. After check-in to the hotel, visit to Wat Doi Kong Moo Wat Jong Kham and Wat Jong Klang just some of the town's most famous Burmese style monasteries. The first structure was constructed around 200 year ago by the Shan people whilst Wat Jong Klang houses an old glass painting and many wood carvings which depict the various lives of Buddha. Return to Chiang Mai by overland and continue to Mae Rim for overnight. (B, L)
Day 05: Mae Hongson – Ban Nai Soi – Chiang Mai
Start in the early morning to visit the morning market area, where you can buy, apart from the usual household items and foodstuffs, an array of insect food such as crickets, worms and ant eggs. After bereakfast, we will excursion to the Karen hill tribe village of Baan Nai Soi, near by is Padong hilltribe village. This ethnic group still retains their old age cultural traditions as most of women attempt to have long neck by wearing numerous brass rings around their neck from an early age. We drive to the pier for you to enjoy a long tail boat for a leisurely trip downstream along Pai River which also provides us a taste of the tranquil countryside and an interesting view of rural life close up. Transfer to the airport for flight return to Chinag Mai. Check in at hotel and free on your own (B/L)
Day 06: Chiang Mai – Departure
Today you will be free for shopping or explore the city on your own. Transfer to the airport for your flight to next destination. (B)

• • Due to the early departure of the package from Chiangmai, we advise to book 1 night in Chiangmai before the start of the package;

• The nights’ accommodation for the first 2 days at the hill tribe villages do not have electricity, warms water and air-conditioning. Traditional, simple bamboo/wooden houses with simple mattresses and mosquito nets with shared bathroom facilities. Please explain your clients well about the set-up of these overnight addresses;
